Mayne Island Community Bus
The Mayne Island Bus Society provides essential, donation-based community transit services across Mayne Island. Operated entirely by dedicated volunteers, the shuttle helps locals and visitors travel between key island hubs, ferry sailings at Village Bay, local shops in Miners Bay, and community events. Passengers can easily book rides or check transit schedules online via their Schedulista booking portal. The society is always seeking volunteer drivers to join the team. A Class 4 unrestricted driver's license is required, and coaching is provided to help prospective drivers complete the licensing process.
Mayne Island Community Garden
The Mayne Island Community Garden is located behind the Mayne Island Community Centre on beautiful Mayne Island in the Southern Gulf Islands of British Columbia. It consists of 4' x 12' plots that members garden throughout the year. The Garden is organic. A water system is in place that collects rainwater for gardeners to use. Membership year runs from January 1 to December 31. Members are required to agree to Garden Guidelines. Community Garden Members are required to take out a membership with the Mayne Island Community Centre. Community Centres Memberships are collected with your dues payment.
Days for Girls Charitable Foundation
Volunteers crafting sustainable, reusable feminine hygiene kits for women and girls worldwide. Holds community sewing workshops approximately 6 times per year.
Mayne Island Assisted Living Society (MIALS)
Supporting seniors and adults with home assistance, volunteer driver rides, home visits, and weekly meal programs like Lunch Bunch and Creative Cafe.
Mayne Island Disc Golf Club - Course at Dinner Bay Park
Funded by the Mayne Island Parks and Recreation Commission and installed in November 2014. With holes added in the Winter of 2015/16 the course is now 18 holes! The disc golf course is located in Dinner Bay Park on Mayne Island. With an aim to promote disc golfing on the island.

Driven by the need for local, accessible youth recreation on the island, the organization is actively working to establish a public All-Wheels skatepark—serving skateboarders, bikers, and scooter riders of all ages and abilities. Alongside advocacy and park planning, the club empowers children, teens, and newcomers by offering inclusive community programs, skill-building lessons, and a safe, welcoming recreational environment.
